More than 68,000 people have been affected by the current weather conditions around the island, the Disaster Management Centre reported. Around 7437 people remain in around 37 IDP centres.
The DMC Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili stated that three people had lost their lives due to the situation.
Furthermore, several homes around the island have been partially damaged due to the weather while several roads have been blocked by fallen trees, he added.
